Travelling Aussies 🇦🇺 What an absolutely fabulous Chinese restaurant 🏆 Service, flavour, freshness, fabulous staff ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We booked an inside table but their outdoor dining area also looked great Easy access from the footpath, split bills and clean facilities - excellent 👍 You have to try the Happy Boy Orange Wine - a specially created soft wine, a co-fermented blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, developed in old barriques - outstanding 🥇 One of the best dining experiences we’ve enjoyed in a lot of travel ❤️

My partner and I absolutely love going to Happy Boy. The food is always delicious and really well priced. They’ve got a big wine list, plus a rotating selection by the glass which I love. If it’s a nice evening, I highly recommend sitting outside on the deck — the fairy-lit trees are gorgeous and it’s such a lovely spot to enjoy dinner. You can bring your dog too, which is an added bonus.

This place is hidden behind fairy lights and gives a modern industrial chic feel with a sprinkle of ethereal vibes. It is curated with menu items that are perfect for sharing/ communal style dining. That being said, it can get a bit loud and noisy. The prices are reasonable (if shared amongst multiple people) and the portions are generous. The staff were very friendly and attentive, and overall had a great dining experience. Would highly recommend!!

Fantastic restaurant! I’ve been coming regularly since 2019 and it’s never let me down. The food is incredibly tasty, the service efficient and friendly, the space modern and chic. Family meals, work lunches, celebrations, quick bites with a friend - we’ve done it all. The consistency is admirable in a world where things come and go. The dishes offer something different from your typical westernised Chinese. Interesting wine list. Reasonable prices also including a very well-priced lunch special. Keep doing what you’re doing guys 10/10

Experienced the lunch special with my 11&13 y/o boys. We loved it! Fresh and delicious. No stuffy staff to make us feel like we shouldn’t be there- thank you 🤩

Had such an amazing experience and delicious food at happy boy, it's the 2nd time I've been here and the food quality and experience is top notch. We've ordered a few dishes and it was almost impossible to pick a favourite as everything was incredible. Will definitely be going back more often.

We were searching for a restaurant after a red eye flight to Brisbane and found this place. My wife didn’t realise it is a Chinese restaurant until I told her, probably due to nice modern decor. The beef cheek and burnt broccolini are nice to go with the red wine. Indoor acoustic is not great if there is a noisy group beside you.

Had such a good experience dining and happy boy for the first time for dinner last night. We were a party of two and upon my friends recommendation, we both chose the chefs banquet. I thought it represented excellent value at $50PP and felt like a very good way to experience variety of the menu. I thought the standout dishes were the eggplant, the mushrooms and the pork. I also was very excited to see a chilled red wine on the menu and found this went beautifully with our meal. Can’t wait to go back again. Very impressed - so delicious.

10 out of 10 Gluten Free friendly! Food was absolutely amazing, we ordered off the lunch menu. To our surprise the food came exceptionally fast and was very tasty!

One thing about travelling with Chinese parents is that we almost always end up eating Chinese or Asian food - luckily, Brisbane has so much to offer We made our way to Happy Boy in Fortitude Valley, which has been on my Brisbane dining wish list for a while. We managed to score a last-minute table and had an amazing dinner. Portions were generous and the flavours felt authentically done.
